10 Things to Know About WhatsApp Stickers

1. How to Send Stickers

Step 1:Tap theemoji iconnext to the WhatsApp typing area to send stickers. Earlier, you would only find emoji and GIF options here.

Step 2:Tap on theSticker iconnext to the GIF.

Step 3:WhatsApp will take you to the sticker screen. Tap on thestickerof your choice to send it. Stickers work in all kinds of chats: individual andgroup chat.

2. View Recently Used Stickers

Emojis have a Recently viewed section, which allows you to send the emojis you use most quickly. When you open the sticker panel, the stickers that are recently used are the first tab at the top.

Step 1:Go to theEmojis sectionand tap on theclock-like icon.

Step 2:Tap anyrecently used sticker, which will instantly be sent to the chat.

3. Add to Favorites

In addition to the star feature, which lets you favorite individual messages in WhatsApp, there is also a dedicated favorites section for stickers.

Step 1:Open the stickers panel and tap on theStar icon.

Step 2:To add stickers to the favorite section,tap and hold on tothe sticker from the sticker pack. Then, from the pop-up menu, chooseAdd.

Alternatively, tap the received or sent sticker once and select Add to Favorites from the pop-up.

4. View Stickers Based on Emotions

Just next to the Favorites icon, you have the Heart box icon. Here, you will find sticker categories based on the emojis on the stickers. You have sections like heart, sad, happy, etc. For instance, you get stickers with a happy face in the happy section.

5. Grouped Stickers

When you send multiple stickers simultaneously, WhatsApp automatically groups them in pairs. Once you send the stickers, you will not see the sticker pair immediately. You must leave the chat and reopen it.

While grouping stickers saves space on the chat screen, you cannot currently send two stickers together manually

6. Add New Stickers

By default, WhatsApp comes pre-installed with only one sticker pack. But that shouldn’t disappoint you, as you can add more stickers from WhatsApp’s collection.

Step 1:To do so, open thesticker screenand taptheAdd iconat the top-right corner. Here, you will find all the sticker packs.

Step 2:Tap theDownload iconnext to the pack you want to download.

7. Install Sticker Pack From Received Stickers

WhatsApp has a significant collection of stickers. If someone sends you a sticker you like, you don’t have to look for it in every sticker pack. Tap on the sticker once, and you will get the option to view the sticker pack. You can add the stickers to the Favorites section if you already have them.

8. View Installed Stickers

All your downloaded stickers will appear under theMy Stickerstab. To access it, open the Sticker panel. Then, tap on theAdd iconand go toMy Stickers.

9. Reorder Sticker Packs

If you have downloaded several sticker packs, all of them will be available for you to use. You can arrange them according to your preference.

To change the order of the stickers,hold and dragthem using the Move (four-line) icon under the My Stickers section. Once you change the order, it will immediately reflect on the main sticker screen.

10. Delete Sticker Packs

Don’t you like a specific sticker pack? Trash it. To do so, go to the My Stickers section and tap theDelete iconnext to the pack you want to delete. While at it, here’s how todelete a WhatsApp group permanently.

Is It Necessary to Install All Sticker Packs?

No. Only if you want to send stickers from a particular sticker pack do you have to download it. Otherwise, you don’t have to install that specific sticker pack to view stickers. In other words, you can view all the received stickers without downloading their sticker packs.
