2 Ways to Fix Spotify Stops Playing When Screen Is Off Issue

Fix 1: Turn Off Low Power Mode on iPhone

Low Power Mode on your iPhone might end up restricting Spotify app activity as it prioritizes battery saving on your device. This can also mean that Spotify cannot play music when the screen is off. To check if this is the case, turn off Low Power Mode and check again. Here’s how.

Step 1:OpenSettingson your iOS device and tap onBattery.

Step 2:Here,turn offthe toggle forLow Power Mode.

Tip:Android users can pull down from the top of the screen to open theQuick Settings menu. Then, tap on theBattery Savericon to disable battery saving mode.

Fix 2: Allow Spotify to Run in the Background

Allowing background app activity ensures apps like Spotify can check and refresh data even when they are not in use. This is especially helpful if you switch between apps or are using Spotify while your phone’s screen is locked. Here’s how to do it on your Android and iOS devices.

Enable Background App Refresh on iPhone

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onGeneral. Then, tap onBackground App Refresh.

Step 2:Here, scroll down to the Spotify app and ensure the correspondingtoggle is turned on.
