3 Fixes for Apple Books App Not Downloading Books

Basic Fixes

Fix 1: Enable Downloads For New Purchases

If the iBooks app is not downloading your purchased book on your Apple device, you should check if automatic downloads are enabled for new purchases.

On iPhone and iPad

OpenSettings>Books> enablePurchases from Other DevicesandAutomatic Downloads.

On Mac

Step 1:Open theBooksapp > click onBooksat the top-right corner > selectSettings.

Step 2:Select theGeneraltab and then enable the option ofDownload new purchases automatically.

Fix 2: Enable iCloud Account Syncing

Speaking of your iCloud account, you can check whether the Books app is synced with your account. Also, you can check whether you are using the correct iCloud account on your device.

On iPhone and iPad

OpenSettings>Profile name>iCloud>Show All> Enable syncing for theBooks app.

On Mac

OpenSettings>Profile name>Show More Apps> enable syncing for theBooksapp > click onDone.

Fix 3: Reset Network Settings

If nothing has worked so far, we suggest to reset the network settings on your Apple device. You can learn the steps toreset network settings on iPhone. The same steps apply to iPad users.

Reset Network Settings on Mac

There’s no specific option to reset network settings on your Mac. However, you can forget your current Wi-Fi network and join it again.

OpenSettings>Wi-Fi>Detailsnext to your current network name >Forget This Network> join the network again.
