3 Fixes for iMessage Not Downloading Pictures on iPhone

Basic Fixes

Fix 1: Disable and Re-Enable iCloud Sync of Messages

One user in theofficial Apple Community forumsuggests re-enablingMessages for iCloudon your iPhone. This method will re-enable access to your iMessage on your iCloud account.

OpenSettings>Profile icon>iCloud>Show All>Messages> disableSync this iPhone. Wait for some time and then re-enable it.

Fix 2: Change DNS Server

If your images are still not loading in iMessage, change your DNS server. You might have opted for a DNS server to getbetter internet speedsand privacy features, but it can be the reason you can’t download your images. So, we suggest changing your DNS server on your iPhone.

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onWi-Fi. Tap on theinfo iconnext to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 2:Scroll toDNSand tap onConfigure DNS. Then, selectManualfrom the following screen.

Step 3:Tap on theminus iconto delete the pre-filled entries under DNS servers.

Step 4:TapAdd Serverand type theDNS server addressyou want. If you’re going to use Google’s public DNS servers, type8.8.8.8and8.8.4.4in the text box.

Then, tap onSaveat the top-right corner.

Fix 3: Reset Network Settings

Resetting your iPhone’s Network Settings will erase all your previously connected Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth devices, and mobile data settings. You will have to set everything up again from scratch.

OpenSettings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Network Settings> tap again onReset Network Settings.
