3 Fix­es for Windows 11 Stuck in Safe Mode

Fix 1: Use System Configuration

System Configuration is a utility used to define how your PC starts up and which programs and services run with it. If you’ve entered Safe Mode by modifying System Configuration in Windows, your PC will continue to boot in Safe Mode. Here’s how to change that.

Step 1:Press theWindows key + Rto launch the Run dialog box. In the Open field, type inmsconfig, and pressEnter.

Step 2:In the System Configuration window that opens, switch to theBoottab. Under Boot options, uncheck theSafe bootoption and clickApplyfollowed byOK.

Step 3:ClickRestartto confirm.

As your PC restarts, it will exit Safe Mode and should boot normally.

Fix 2: Use the Command Prompt to Exit Safe Mode

If your PC continues to boot into Safe Mode, you canuse Command Promptto resolve the issue. You can use it to remove a boot entry option from the Windows Boot Configuration Data (BCD), which should help you exit Safe Mode on Windows. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1:Press theWindows key + Rto launch the Run dialog box and typecmdin the Open field. Hold downCtrl + Shiftand then pressEnterto open the command prompt with administrative privileges.

Step 2:In the console, type in the following command and pressEnter.

Step 3:Type the following command in the console to restart your PC.

Once your PC restarts, it should boot in normal mode.

Fix 3: Try Advanced Startup Settings

If the above solutions don’t work, you can access the advanced startup settings on Windows. Apart from being useful in entering Safe Mode andtroubleshooting startup issues, the advanced startup settings on Windows can also help you get out of Safe Mode.

Step 1:Open theStart menuand click thePower iconto explore power options.

Step 2:Hold down theShiftkey on your keyboard and selectRestartfrom the power options.

Step 3:ClickTroubleshoot.

Step 4:Go toAdvanced options > Startup Settings. Then, click theRestartbutton.

Step 5:Press theEnterkey on the Startup Settings screen to exit Safe Mode.
