3 Ways to Fix Snapchat Sound Not Working on App

Fix 1: Check Snapchat App Permissions

If Snapchat does not have adequate permissions, it might lead to issues like Snapchat not recording audio. In this case, you can check and see if all the relevant permissions have been granted. Follow the below steps to do it.

On iPhone

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onSnapchat. Enable the toggle forMicrophoneand other relevantpermissions.

On Android

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onApps. Tap onSnapchat.

Step 2:Go toPermissionsand ensureMicrophonepermission is enabled.

Step 3:Then, go to the Not allowed section and tap on the relevantpermission. SelectAllow. Do this for allpermissions.

Fix 2: Clear Cache for Snapchat

Like websites, apps also use cache to decrease loading time. However, as time passes, this cache keeps increasing in size. This might slow down the app and even affect its functions. When this happens,clear the cache for Snapchatand see if this fixes the issue. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1:OpenSnapchatand tap yourbitmoji icon. Tap thecogwheel icon.

Step 2:Scroll down and tap onClear Cache.Confirmwhen prompted.

Fix 3: Reinstall Snapchat

Uninstalling Snapchat will allow you to get rid of all app settings and data. So, if a setting or function prevents Snapchat from working properly, it will be deleted from your device. Now, reinstall the app. This may resolve the sound not working on the Snapchat app issue. Here’s how to do it.

On iPhone

Step 1:Long-press theSnapchat appand tap onRemove App. Tap onDelete App.

Wait for the Snapchat app to finish uninstalling. Then, go to the App Store andreinstall the Snapchat app. Set it up and try playing something to check.

On Android

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onApps. Scroll down and tap onSnapchat.

Step 2:Tap onUninstall. Tap onOKto confirm. Wait for Snapchat to uninstall.

Then, go to the Google Play Store and reinstall Snapchat. Open Snapchat, log in again, and try opening a Story or Snap to check if the sound is working as expected.
