Fix 1: Restart the Fire TV Stick
An existing Fire OS glitch can prevent you from updating it. Restart the Fire TV Stick from its settings and retry updating it.
Step 1:Navigate to theGear iconin the Fire OS home screen and selectMy Fire TV.
Step 2:Scroll down and selectRestartto reboot your Fire TV Stick. Retry checking for new updates.
Fix 2: Check Storage and Delete Apps
If your Fire TV Stick doesn’t have adequate storage to download new updates, the update process will fail. Delete unnecessary apps tofree the occupied storageand retry updating the device.

Step 1:Access Fire OSSettingsand selectAccount & Profile Settings.
Step 2:OpenAmazon Account.
Step 3:SelectDeregisterand confirm it using theDeregisterbutton. Once deregistered, Fire OS will present a new screen to register the device with your Amazon account.
