4 Fixes for Amazon Prime Video App Not Working on Windows 11

Basic Fixes:

Fix 1: Check Your Billing Status

First, check the billing status of your Prime Video account. If your Prime Video account does not process the yearly or monthly subscription fee, it will not work properly on any device, including Windows PCs. Here’s how to check it and make changes if necessary.

Step 1: OpenPrime Videoin your browser andsign into your account.

Step 2:After logging in, click theprofile iconat the top-right corner.

Step 3:SelectAccounts and Settingsfrom the options.

You might be asked to enter your Amazon account password again.

Step 4:If the payment was not processed, go to theAccount and Settingspage and click onEdit on Amazonnext to Prime Membership.

Step 5:After the Amazon web page is loaded, click onView your payment Methodat the top.

Step 6:Click onEdit Payment Methodat the bottom. Now, you can add anew payment methodor select a previously added payment method.

Fix 2: Update the Display Drivers

If the app is still not working, try updating the display drivers of your Windows 11 computer. It is possible that the current display driver version on your Windows 11 computer is not compatible enough to run the Prime Video app. Here’s how to update. Do note that Prime Video on Windows does not support 4K HDR content playback.

Step 1:OpenDevice Manageron your Windows 11 computer.

Step 2:Click onDisplay Adapters.

Step 3:Right-click on theDisplay Driver name> selectUpdate driver.

Step 4:ClickSearch Automatically for Driversto start the process.

Fix 3: Run Microsoft Store Apps Troubleshooter

You can use the built-in troubleshooter for the Microsoft Store app on your Windows 11 PC to check and fix the problems with the Prime Video app, if there are any. Do note that Windows 11 Insider Build 25169 or higher will show Microsoft Store apps troubleshooter as Windows Store Apps.

Step 1:OpenSettings>System>Troubleshoot>Other troubleshooters.

Step 2:Scroll down and click onRunnext to Windows Store Apps.

Step 3:Follow theon-screen instructionsto finish the troubleshooting process.

Fix 4: Reset the Prime Video App Settings

The next solution is to reset all settings for the Prime Video app on your Windows 11 PC. This process will remove information like login details, watch history, and downloaded content from your computer.

Step 1:OpenSettings>Apps>Apps & Features.

Step 2:Under Apps and Features, look forPrime Video for Windows.

Step 3:Click thethree dotsnext to Prime Video for Windows > chooseAdvanced options.

Step 4:Scroll down and click onReset. Click onReset againto confirm your choice.
