4 Fixes for Kindle Books Not Syncing Between Devices

Basic Fixes

Fix 1: Check WhisperSync Settings

WhisperSync is the feature that syncs your e-books across devices based on how much you have read them.

On Mobile

Step 1:OpenAmazon app > Profile icon > Your Account > Content and Devices > Preferences.

Step 2:Tap the arrow icon to expandDevice Synchronization (Whispersync Settings). Then, turn on the feature.

On Desktop

Step 1:Visit theAmazon websiteand then sign in to your account.

Step 2:Click on theAccounts & Lists > Manage Your Content and Devices.

Step 3:Click thePreferencestab at the top.

Step 4:Scroll down and then click onDevice Synchronization (Whispersync Settings).

Step 5:Turn on this feature.

Fix 2: Manually Sync Your Book

As per auser on Reddit, manually syncing your Kindle book can help in fixing the issue. Just open yourcurrent read > Tap on Options > Select Sync to Furthest Page Read.

Fix 3: Login Again to Your Kindle Account

After you enable WhisperSync, you can login again to your Amazon account on your devices. Wait for some time to complete your data syncing.

On Kindle Device

You will have to deregister your Kindle device to log out from your Amazon account.

Step 1:OpenSettings > Your Account.

Step 2:Tap onDeregister Device.

Step3:Register your Kindle again and then check if the problem is solved.

On Kindle App

Step 1:Open theKindle app > More > Settings > Sign Out.

Step 2: Sign in againto your account and then check if the problem is solved.

Fix 4: Reset Kindle Device

If you are still facing the same issue, you can try resetting your Kindle device. This will remove all the preferences and restore them to default. You will be able to download all your books again from the cloud.

Step 1:OpenKindle Settings > Device options > Factory reset.

Step 2:Sign in again to your Kindle device and then check if the problem is solved..
