4 Fixes for Spotify Not Syncing Between Mobile and Desktop

Fix 1: Switch to Offline Mode

The first solution that we suggest was mentioned on theofficial Spotify Community page. You just need to switch to Offline Mode and switch back to Online Mode on your Spotify account. That has solved the issue of the Spotify account not syncing on mobile and desktop. Here’s how.

On Mobile

Step 1:Open theSpotifyapp on your iPhone or Android phone.

Step 2:Tap theSettings iconat the top-right corner and selectPlaybackfrom the list of options.

Step 3:Tap the toggle next toOfflineto enable it.

Step 4: Wait a few secondsand tap the toggle again todisable Offline Mode.

On Mac

OpenSpotify> click onSpotifyat the top-right corner > selectOffline Mode> disableOffline Modeafter a few seconds.

On Windows

OpenSpotify>three dotsin the top-left corner >File>Offline Mode> disableOffline Modeafter a few seconds.

Fix 2: Disable Local Device Visibility Over Wi-Fi

This is another solution suggested by users who faced the issue of Spotify not syncing songs, especially the liked ones. This feature lets you switch the same music playback from one device to another. Here’s how to disable this feature on your mobile device.

Step 1:OpenSpotifyon your iPhone or Android phone.

Step 2:Tap theSettingsicon at the top-right corner and then selectDevices.

Step 3:Turn off the toggle forShow Local Devices Only.

Fix 3: Disable Low Data Mode for Wi-Fi

A good Wi-Fi connection is required to facilitate quick syncing of your Spotify library between multiple devices. If your Spotify account is still not syncing between mobile and desktop, you need to check and disable Low Data Mode or Data Saver Mode for Wi-Fi. Here’s how.

On iPhone

Step 1:Open theSettingsapp on your iPhone and then tap onWi-Fi.

Step 2:Tap theInfo iconnext to the connected Wi-Fi name and then tap the toggle next toLow Data Modeto disable it.

On Android

Step 1:OpenSettings > Network and Internet > Wi-Fi > Settings iconnext to connected Wi-Fi network.

Step 2:SelectNetwork Usageand ensure it isnot set to a Metered connection.

On Mac

Step 1:OpenSettings > Wi-Fi >click onDetailsnext to the connected Wi-Fi network name.

On Windows

Step 1:OpenSettings > Network and interneton the left side.

Step 2:Click on the name of yourconnected Wi-Fi network.

Step 3:Scroll down and click the toggle forMetered Connectionto disable the feature.

Fix 4: Clear Spotify App Cache

Clearing the app cache will remove all your preferences and data from the app. Then, you can check if the problem is solved.

On Mobile

OpenSpotify > Settings and Privacy > Storage > Clear cache.

On Desktop

OpenSpotify > Settings >scroll down and then clickClear cachenext to Storage.
