4 Fixes for Spotify Premium Not Working Offline on Smartphones

Fix 1: Confirm Offline Mode Is Enabled

Premium users can manually enable Offline mode within the app. This allows them to listen to their downloaded Spotify songs, regardless of whether they’re connected to the internet. So, if you can’t listen to music offline on Spotify Premium, ensure Offline mode is enabled. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1:OpenSpotifyand tap on yourname icon. Tap onSettings and privacy.

Step 2:Tap onPlaybackand enable theOffline modetoggle.

Fix 2: Check Device Storage

To save downloaded songs on your device, sufficient storage space on your device needs to be available. If you’re unsure, check the storage space available on your device. If it is less than expected, you should make some space before re-downloading the song or podcast. Follow the below steps to do it.

Step 1:OpenSpotifyand tap yourname icon. Tap onSettings and privacy.

Step 2:Tap onStorageand check the availablespace.

If enough space is unavailable, free up some space on your iPhone orAndroiddevice. Then, download the song or podcast and check again.

Fix 3: Clear Cache for Spotify

To help your apps load faster, certain information is collected every time you use the app. However, this cache accumulates over time and can hamper app functions. In this case, you canclear the cache for the Spotify appon your phone. Here’s how.

Step 1:OpenSpotify→ yourname icon→Settings and privacy. Tap onStorage.

Step 2:Tap onClear cacheandconfirmwhen prompted.

Fix 4: Disable Low Power Mode/Battery Saver

When enabled, Low Power Mode or Battery Saver mode can help save battery life on your smartphone. This is, however, done at the expense of other apps. This can be one of the reasons why you can’t listen to music offline on Spotify Premium. Here’s how to disable it on your Android or iOS device.

Turn off Low Power Mode on iPhone

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onBattery. Turn off theLow Power Modetoggle.

Turn off Battery Saver on Android

Step 1:Pull down from the top of the page twice to openQuick settings. Tap on thePower savingtile.

Now, close and reopen the Spotify app. Once done, try playing something offline to check if Spotify Premium is working as expected.
