4 Fixes if Chrome Remote Desktop Is Not Working on Windows 11

Fix 1: Disable PIN-Less Authentication
Chrome Remote Desktop lets you pair your trusted devices with your computer. This eliminates the need to enter the security PIN whenever you access your computer. However, this feature may also cause problems at times. Try disabling the PIN-less authentication feature on your computer to see if that works.
Step 1:Press theWindows key + Rto open the Run dialog > typeregeditin the box > pressEnter.
Step 2:Paste the following path in the address bar at the top and pressEnterto navigate to the Policies key.
Step 3:Right-click thePolicieskey > go toNew> selectKey> name itGoogle.
Step 4:Within the Google key, createanother keyand name itChrome.
Step 5:Right-click on theChromekey > go toNew> selectDWORD (32-bit) Value> name itRemoteAccessHostAllowClientPairing.
Step 6:Double-click the newly createdDWORD> change the value data to1> clickOK.
Now, restart your PC and use the Chrome Remote Desktop again.
Fix 2: Delete the Paired Client and Connect Again
Another thing to fix Chrome Remote Desktop is to remove all the paired clients and start over. This will help clear out any temporary glitches and re-establish the remote connection.
Step 1:Open theChrome Remote Desktop appon your PC or navigate to theChrome Remote Desktop pagein your browser.
Step 2:On the Remote Access tab, click onView/Edit.
Step 3:In the Paired clients window, click thetrash iconnext to the device you want to unpair.
After completing the above steps,set up the remote computeragain.
Fix 3: Repair or Reinstall Chrome Remote Desktop
Problems with the Chrome Remote Desktop app on your PC can also prevent it from working. Fortunately, Windows lets yourepair your apps in several ways.
Step 1:Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app > go toApps > Installed apps.
Step 2:Scroll down or use the search bar at the top to locate the Chrome Remote Desktop Host on the list. Click thethree-dot menu iconnext to it and selectRepair.
Wait for Windows to repair the app. If the problem persists, uninstall the Chrome Remote Desktop app and install it again.
Fix 4: Reinstall Google Chrome
If you still have trouble connecting while using the Chrome Remote Desktop extension, try reinstalling the browser on your PC. This will resolve issues caused by corrupt data and update the browser to its latest version.
Step 1:Press theWindows key + Rto open the Run dialog > typeappwiz.cplin the Open field > pressEnter.
Step 2:Locate and selectGoogle Chrome> click onUninstallat the top.
Follow the on-screen prompts to finish removing the browser. Once done,reinstall Google Chromeon your PC, and the Chrome Remote Desktop extension should work as before.
