4 Ways to Disable Sleep Mode in Windows 11

Method 1: Using the Settings App
Whether it’s something as simple aschanging your desktop backgroundor more advanced tasks like turning off sleep mode, you can accomplish it all with the Windows Settings app.
Step 1:Press the Windows key to open theStartMenu.
Step 2:TypeSettingsin the search bar and press Enter. Alternatively, you can press the Windows + I key to launch the Settings app.
Step 3:ChooseSystemfrom the left sidebar andPower & batteryfrom the right pane.
Step 4:Click the drop-down icon next toScreen and sleep.
Step 5:Click the drop-down icon next toOn battery power, put my device to sleep after,and chooseNeverfrom the context menu.
Step 6:UnderScreen and sleepsection, chooseNeverfrom the drop-down next to theWhen plugged in, put my device to sleep afteroption.

Method 2: Using the Control Panel
Step 1:Press the Windows key to launch theStart Menu, typeControl Panelin the search bar, and press Enter.
Step 2:ChooseSystem and Security.
Step 3:Choose thePower Options.
Step 4:Click theChange plan settingsoption.
Step 5:Set the ‘Put the computer to sleep’ option toNeverfor On battery.
Step 6:Similarly, chooseNeverfor Plugged In.
Step 7:Click theSave changesbutton.

Method 3: Using the Microsoft PowerToys
Microsoft PowerToys is a collection of utilities, and one of its many features is to disable the sleep mode. Download and install the app using the link below.
Download Microsoft PowerToys
Step 1:After the installation is complete, launchMicrosoft PowerToys.
Step 2:From the PowerToys Settings, clickAwakefrom the left sidebar and turn on theEnable Awaketoggle.
Step 3:Click the drop-down icon next toModeand chooseKeep awake indefinitely.
Step 4:Enable the toggle next to theKeep screen onoption.
Next, restart your computer to save the changes. After restart, your computer will not go to sleep automatically.
Method 4: Using the Local Group Policy Editor
The Local Group Policy Editor is another Windows utility you can use to stop Windows 11 PC from going to sleep automatically.
Note:Group Policy Editor is only available for Professional, Enterprise, and Education edition of Windows. If you’re using Windows Home, you can’t access the Local Group Policy Editor. Step 1:Press theWindows + Rkeyboard shortcut to open the Run tool.
Step 2:Typegpedit.mscin the search bar and press Enter.
Step 3:In the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to the following location:
Step 4:Double-click on theAllow standby states (S1-S3) when sleeping (plugged in)policy.
Step 5:ChooseEnabled.
Step 6:ClickApplyand thenOKto save the changes.
Step 7:Double-click on theAllow standby states (S1-S3) when sleeping (on battery)policy.
Step 8:ChooseEnabled.
Step 9:ClickApplyandOKbuttons to save the changes.
