Basic Fixes

Fix 1: Check Find My Device

If you are using aGoogle WearOS smartwatchalong with your smartphone, you may have accidentally tapped on the Find My Device icon on your watch. This will push your smartphone to ring and play a sound. Therefore, you can keep this in check and prevent your Android device from ringing.

Fix 2: Check Notification Settings

Check if you have enabled the same sound for appnotificationsand phone calls. If yes, whenever you receive a notification from an app or a text message, you will hear your ringtone play. Here’s how you can change the sound settings on your Android device.

Step 1:Open theSettingsapp, and go toSound & Vibration.

Step 2:Select a different sound for the ringtone and for notifications.

Fix 3: Check NFC Tags

If the NFC option is enabled, it could push constant audio alerts whenever it detects a nearby NFC device. If you keep your credit card in the phone’s wallet cover, the cover is usually folded back when you unlock the phone. This means the cards are now behind the phone, and the NFC reader will automatically read their chips triggering the audio alert.

Here’s how you can disable the NFC option on your smartphone.

OpenSettings > Connection and Sharing > NFCand turn it off.

Fix 4: Reset Device

If none of the above methods work, try to reset your Android device. This will fix any misconfiguration causing the problem.

However, this will reset all the preferences and settings on your device and remove any saved Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi passwords, and so on.

Go toSettings > Back up and reset > Reset Phoneand reset all the settings.
