4 Ways to Fix Google Maps Not Working on iPhone

Fix 1: Enable Mobile Data and Background App Refresh for Google Maps
Another thing to do is ensure that Google Maps is allowed to use mobile data on your iPhone. If you’renot receiving timely alertsfrom Google Maps regarding traffic, route options, and more, ensure Background App Refresh is enabled for the app.
Step 1:Open theSettingsapp > scroll down to tap onGoogle Maps.
Step 2:Enable the toggles forMobile DataandBackground App Refresh.
Fix 2: Allow Google Maps to Access Your Location
If you accidentally disallowed Google Maps’ location access, it won’t track your location and provide directions. Here’s how to fix that.
Step 1:Open theSettingsapp and scroll down to tap onGoogle Maps.
Step 2:Tap onLocationand selectWhile Using the App or WidgetorAlwaysfrom the following menu.
Tip: You can enablePrecise Locationso that Google Maps can access your location data accurately.
Fix 3: Correct Date and Time on iPhone
This may seem odd, but having youriPhone set to the wrong date or timecould prevent apps like Google Maps from communicating with the servers and working correctly. To avoid this, enable the automatic date and time feature on your iPhone.
Step 1:Launch theSettingsapp on your iPhone > tap onGeneral.
Step 2:Tap onDate & Time> toggle onSet Automatically.
Fix 4: Reset Your Device’s Location Settings
If all else fails, consider resetting the location settings on your iPhone. This will allow you to configure the location settings from scratch and resolve any issues caused by misconfigured settings.
Step 1:Open theSettingsapp > navigate toGeneral > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
Step 2:TapResetat the bottom > selectReset Location & Privacy.
Enter your lock screen passcode and select Reset Location & Privacy again when prompted. Once done, open Google Maps and allow all the location permissions again to see if it works fine.
