4 Ways to Fix Instagram Story Not Uploading on iPhone and Android

Basic Fixes

Fix 1: Enable Cellular Data for Instagram

If you can’t upload a story while you’re using mobile data, check if you’ve disabled cellular data access for Instagram

On iPhone

Go toSettings, scroll down, selectInstagramfrom the list, and enableMobile Data.

On Android

Step 1:Tap and hold theInstagramapp icon, and selectApp Info.

Step 2:SelectData usageand ensure you haven’t enabledDisable mobile data.

Fix 2: Don’t Add Stickers or Music

Adding stickers, GIFs, or music to your Instagram story will obviously make it content-heavy, and this can pose some issues for the upload process, and can evendecrease the quality of the story. So, you can try uploading the story without any music or story, and see if you can successfully upload it.

Step 2:Tap onClear cacheand selectOKto confirm.

On iPhone

Offloading an applicationon your iPhone removes temporary data, including cache and junk files.

Step 1:Open theSettingsapp. Go toGeneral -> iPhone Storage.

Step 2: Scroll down and selectInstagramfrom the list. SelectOffload App. Wait for the offloading to complete, then tap on theReinstall Appoption.

Fix 4: Log Out and Login to Instagram

Once you sign out of Instagram and log in again, there is a good chance that the issue will be resolved.

Step 1:Open the Instagram app and go to theProfiletab. Tap on the menu button and selectSettings.

Step 2:Tap onLog Out. Once you are logged out, sign in to your account.
