4 Ways to Fix Windows Laptop Not Connecting to Mobile Hotspot on Android

Try Basic Fixes

Fix 1. Turn the Hotspot on and off

Step 1:OpenSettingson your Android smartphone.

Step 2:Tap onConnection and Sharing> selectPersonal HotspotorMobile Hotspot.

Step 3:Toggle offMobile Hotspotto turn the hotspot off.

Step 4:Tap on thetoggleto turn the hotspot back on. You can now connect your Windows laptop to your Android smartphone through the hotspot.

Fix 2. Ensure Your Device Is in the Hotspot Range

Often, we keep mobile at places that are farther from a laptop, and when it is at a range where it keeps disconnecting, these types of issues show up. Try moving closer to the smartphone. You can now connect to the hotspot. Also, ensure you have a stable internet connection on your smartphone.

Fix 3. Forget the Connection and Reconnect on PC

If the mobile hotspot configuration has changed for some reason, it’s best to remove it from the PC’s saved settings and reconnect.

Step 1:Click on theStart iconon your Windows laptop and click onSettings.

Step 2:Go toNetwork & Internet> selectWi-Fisettings >Manage known networks.

Step 3:Now, clickForgetnext to the Wi-Fi name to forget the network.

Step 4:Return to theWi-Fi settingsand re-connect to the hotspot by entering the password.

Fix 4. Reset Network Settings on the PC

Step 1:Open theNetwork & Internetsettings on your laptop.

Step 2:SelectAdvanced Network Settingsand click onNetwork Reset.

Step 3:ClickReset nowand follow theon-screen instructionsto reset the network settings.
