4 Ways to Insert Images in Google Docs

Method 1: Add Photos From Camera Roll to Google Docs

You can add photos in Google Docs from the Camera Roll of your iPhone or Android phone. You can also insert an image by clicking it from the webcam of your Mac or Windows PC.

Using Mobile

Step 1:OpenGoogle Docson your iPhone or Android.

Step 2:Open thedocumentwhere you want to add the image.

Step 3:Tap theEdit iconat the bottom right.

Step 4:Tap thePlus iconat the top right andselect Imageat the bottom.

Step 5:SelectFrom CameraorFrom Photos. If you select From Camera, tap onOkto allow Camera access.

Step 6:Select thepicturethat you want to insert and tap onUse Photoat the bottom right.

Using Desktop

Step 1:OpenGoogle Docson any web browser on your Mac or Windows PC.

Step 2:Click onInsertat the top and selectImagefrom the context menu.

Step 3:SelectCamera.

Step 4:Allowpermission to use the webcamof your Mac or Windows PC.

The Camera viewfinder window will appear on your screen.

Step 5:Click theCameraicon to capture the image. Then, click onInsertto use it.

You can click up to three images and select the one you want to insert.

Tip:You can alsoadd a caption to an imagein Google Docs.

Method 2: Add Photos From Google Drive to Google Docs

Instead of downloading photos from your Google Drive, you can directly add a picture from your Google Drive account in Google Docs. Ensure you have logged in to the same Google account for both Drive and Docs on your web browser.

Step 1:OpenGoogle Docs> go to yourdocument.

Step 2:Click onInsertat the top and selectImagefrom the context menu.

Step 3:SelectDrivefrom the submenu.

The Google Drive window will appear on the right side of Google Docs.

Step 4:Select thephotoyou want to insert in your document.

Fix 3: Add Photos to Google Docs From Google Photos

Like Google Drive, you can insert images in Google Docs from Google Photos. Here’s how to do it on your Mac or Windows PC.

Step 1:OpenGoogle Docs> yourdocument>Insert>Image.

Step 2:SelectGoogle Photos.

Step 3:After theGoogle Photos windowappears on the right side, click on thephotoyou want to add.

4. Add Photos Using Image URL in Google Docs

Step 1:OpenGoogle Docs> yourdocument>Insert>Image

Step 2:ClickBy URLfrom the list.

Step 3:Paste theURLof the image and click onInsert Image.
