Method 1: Check Previous Chat History
If you have interacted with this person on Snapchat in the past, you can find the conversation in the chat window. If you don’t see the previous chat, the person may have blocked you on the platform. Here’s how to check.
Step 1:Launch theSnapchatapp on your phone and tap on theChaticon.
Step 2:Now, look through the chat for your friend. If not visible, tap on thesearch iconat the top right corner and search for your friend.
Step 3:If the contact is visible, tap on it and check the chat window for the friend-added icon. Or, try sending them a message.
If you see an automated message like ‘Failed to send your message, tap to try again’ or cannot send a message, you may have been blocked.
Method 2: Manually Search for the User
One of the most effective ways to confirm your blocked status on Snapchat is by searching the user. Do this when you don’t see an existing chat for a contact in the chat window.
Step 1:OpenSnapchaton your phone and tap thesearch iconat the top left corner.
Step 2:In the search bar, enter your friend’sfull username or nameand search for them. If the user is visible, tap on them.
If you don’t see the account in search results, the person has blocked your Snapchat or deleted their Snapchat account. However, if the person’s account is visible in search results, the recipient may have removed you from their friend list.

Method 3: Try Adding the User Again
When someone blocks you on Snapchat, Snapchat automatically removes you from their friend list. So, when you try to add the person as a friend again, the app shows an error. It confirms that the person has blocked you on Snapchat. Let’s check it in action.
Step 1:OpenSnapchatand tap on theChaticon. Tap on the relevantconversation.
Step 2:Once the chat window opens, tap on theAddicon. Wait and see if you can add the friend again or get an error instead.
If you see the ‘Sorry, Couldn’t find the person’ message, it means the other user has either deleted their Snapchat account or blocked you.
Method 4: Check if Their Stories Are Visible
If your friend regularly uploads stories on the platform and you notice a significant absence for a couple of weeks, it can indicate that they may have blocked you on Snapchat. To confirm, manually search and view their Story.
Step 1:OpenSnapchaton your phone > tap on thefriends icon.
Step 2:Go through the currently visible stories and tap on therelevant one, if visible.
If you can’t find or open their Story, it strongly indicates that you have been blocked.
