5 Fixes for Cloud Gaming Not Working in Xbox App for Windows

Fix 1. Ensure Your System Meets Minimum Requirements
Before you assume that the Xbox app is the source of the problem, ensure that your PC meets these minimum requirements for cloud gaming:
Additionally, you should ensure that cloud gaming isavailable in your region. To do that, open the link and look for the ‘Cloud gaming (Ultimate only)’ column next to your country or region. If you are in an unsupported region, cloud gaming will not be in the Xbox app.
Fix 2. Rule out Issues With Your Internet
Slow or unreliable internet can result in lag, out-of-sync audio, or poor graphics quality while cloud gaming in the Xbox app for Windows. To avoid this, ensure to use a fast internet connection. Open your preferred browser and run a quickinternet speed test.
If you have a dual-band router, Microsoft suggestsconnecting your Windows PC to a 5 GHz networkfor a smooth experience. Casting your device on another screen, using a VPN, or using custom DNS may also hamper your experience.
Fix 3. Change the Display Language on Windows
Several users on aMicrosoft community postreported fixing the issue of cloud gaming not working by changing the language on their Windows computers. You can also try this trick. Tochange the default language on your Windows PC:
Step 1:Press theWindows + I keyboard shortcutto open the Settings app.
Step 2:SelectTime & languagefrom the left sidebar. Then, click onLanguage & regionon your right.
Step 3:Click theAdd a languagebutton.
Step 4:In the Choose a language to install window, type thenameof the language you wish to download in the search box, such as English (United Kingdom). Select it and clickNext.
Step 5:Check theSet as my Windows display languagebox and clickInstall.
Wait for Windows to download and apply the language pack. Then, check if the issue is still there.
Fix 4. Reinstall Gaming Services
Gaming Services is a core service in Windows that cannot be uninstalled the usual way. However, you can use the PowerShell command to remove and reinstall it. This can easily resolve any corruption or issue with it.
Step 1:Typepowershellin Windows Search and selectRun as Administratorfrom the menu.
Step 2:SelectYeswhen the User Account Control (UAC) prompt appears.
Step 3:Type the following command and pressEnter:
Step 4:Wait for the command to uninstall Gaming Services. Then, type the following command and pressEnterto open the Gaming Services listing in Microsoft Store.
Step 5:Click theInstallbutton to download the app. Once you’ve done this,restartyour PC and check if you can play your favorite titles through cloud gaming.
Fix 5. Repair or Reset the Xbox App
The Xbox App can be repaired without uninstalling, which is handy when you want to fix the issue quickly. However, you may have to sign in again.
Step 1:PressWin + Sto open the Start menu search.In the search box, typeXbox. Right-click on theXbox Appand selectApp settings.
Step 2:Scroll to theResetsection and click theRepairbutton.
Step 3:After completing the process, a checkmark will appear next to the Repair button. If the problem persists, try resetting the app from the same menu using theResetbutton.
