5 Ways to Blur a Part of Picture on iPhone and iPad

Method 1: Use Markup Tools in the Photos App
While the default markup option in the Photos app doesn’t come with a blur tool, you can get creative and use shapes to hide private details in an image. Let’s check it in action.
Step 1:Open thePhotos app > Select an image > Edit > Pen icon at the top-right corner.
Step 2:TapPlus icon > Add Shape.
Step 3:Select any shape. You canchange color, add a stroke, change border thickness, and place it in a relevant position. TapDoneto save your changes, and your photo is ready for sharing on the web.
You can add several shapes and hide any information in an image.
Method 2: Use Markup Tool in Messages App
The same Markup tool is available in the Messages app. You can use it before sending a picture to your contact.
Step 1:Open theMessages app > Select chat > Plus icon > Photos.
Step 2:Choose your photo and then tap thephoto iconbefore sending.
Step 3:SelectMarkup > Plus icon > Add Shape.
Step 4:Follow thesame stepsto hide a part of your image as mentioned above.

Method 3: Use Built-in Editing Tools in WhatsApp and Telegram
Instant messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram provide relevant tools to blur something in a picture. You don’t need to rely on the Photos app or a third-party tool to get the job done. We will cover WhatsApp and Telegram since they are the most popular messaging apps.
Step 1:Open a conversation inWhatsApp > Plus icon > Photos.
Step 2:Select aphoto you want to send. It opens the WhatsApp image editing menu.
Step 3:Tap theEdit iconat the top-right corner.
Step 4:Select thebluricon at the bottom and thenmask relevant detailsin a photo.
Step 5:TapDone. Glance over the preview and hit send.
Telegram
Telegram’s built-in blur tool is even better than WhatsApp. Here’s what you need to do.
Step 1:Go to a conversation inTelegram > Attach icon > Gallery.
Step 2:Tap thePen icon > Select the Blur tool.
Step 3:Use your fingers tomask detailsand then tap thecheckmark.
Step 4:Hit theup arrow iconto send the edited picture.

Method 4: Using Adobe Photoshop
You can use Adobe Photoshop to blur out part of a photo too. You need to use the brush tool to complete the job.
Step 1:DownloadAdobe Photoshopon your iPhone using the link below. Open the app and thensign inwith Adobe account details. Give it relevant permissions to access photos on the device.
Step 2:Select a photo and then tapPhoto Editor.
Step 3:Scroll right to theDrawmenu.
Step 4:Pick arelevant color and brush size, and then slide it over the photo to hide details.
Step 5:Tap theSaveicon at the top.
Open the Photos app on your iPhone, and your edited image is ready to share on any platform. Some options in the Adobe Photoshop app do require a paid subscription.
Method 5: Use Blur Photo App
Adobe Photoshop can be overkill for a simple task and may not be everyone’s cup of tea. You can use a dedicated third-party app to blur out part of a photo too.
While there are dozens of such apps, the Blur Photo editor app stands out due to its simple user interface and sufficient features.
Step 1:Download theBlur Photo appon your iPhone.
Step 2:SelectPhoto Blur > Select the imagefrom your gallery.
