5 Ways to Download Photos and Videos From Threads

1. Take a Screenshot or Record Screen

Step 1: Open theThreads appand go to the post whose image you want to save.
Step 2: Tap the image to open it in full screen.
Step 3: Now press theside and volume-up buttonssimultaneously to capture a screenshot.
Note: If you use an older iPhone with a home button, press the home button instead of the volume-up button to take a screenshot.
Screen Record on iOS
You can use the screen record option from the Control Center to save a video from Threads for later.
Step 1: Open theThreads appand go to the post whose video you want to download.
Step 2: Swipe down from the right corner of the screen to open Control Center.
Step 3: Tap theScreen Recordbutton to record the video playing on the screen.

Step 1: Open theThreads appand go to the post.
Step 2: Open the post; now press thepower button and volume-down buttonsimultaneously to capture a screenshot of the image.
Note: Screen recording on an Android phone differs from phone to phone because of multiple OEM manufacturers.
2. Long-Press and Save Threads Photos (iOS)
If you are using an iPhone, the Threads app on iOS allows you to save images (not videos) natively without installing any additional app on your phone. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open theThreads appon your iPhone and go to the post.
Step 2:Tap and holdthe image.
Step 3: Swipe up on the share sheet to reveal more options.
Step 4: TapSave Image.
Step 5: A pop-up will appear on the screen; tapOKto save the image in the Photos app.
3. Use a Third-Party App (Android and iOS)
Threads also lets you download media using third-party apps from the App Store or Play Store. You can easily save Threads photos and videos,but the only criterion is that the post should be from a public account, not a private one.
We will be using the TVD app for the same. Before proceeding with the steps, download the app onAndroidandiOS.
Step 1: Open theThreads appand tap thesharebutton next to the post you want to download.
Step 2: Tap theCopy link.
Step 3: Now, open theTVD appand clickGrant Permission.
Step 4: TapAllow Access to All Photos.
Step 5: Paste the video link and click onDOWNLOAD.
And that’s it. The video will be saved to your phone.
4. Download Media From Websites
If you don’t want to install any app on your smartphone but still want to download Threads photos and videos, you can use an online tool such as Threads Media Downloader on your smartphone or computer. Here are the steps to follow:
Note: This method lets you download videos from a public account only.
Step 1: Open theThreads appand go to the post whose video you want to download.
Step 2: Tap thesharebutton >Copy link.
Step 3: Now, go to theThreads Media Downloader websiteand paste the link in the URL box.
Step 4: TapGRAB MEDIA.
Step 5: Once the media is grabbed, tap onDownload.
Step 6: Now, tap thesharebutton to open the share sheet.
Step 7: TapSave to Files.
Step 8: Select the directory and tapSave.
And now, the video will be saved to your phone.
5. Use Threads on the Web
Download Images From Threads Web
Step 1: OpenThreadsand navigate to the post whose image you wish to download.
Step 2: Click on the image to view it in full-screen.
Step 3: Now, right-click on the image and clickSave Image As.
A download pop-up will appear on the screen;
Step 5: ClickSaveto download the image to your computer.
Download Videos From Threads Web
Downloading a video from Threads Web is trickier than an image. However, you can still download those using Inspect Element, a tool available on browsers to view a website’s source code, including the media files.
Note: Using this method, you cannot download videos from a Threads private profile.
Step 1: OpenThreadsand navigate to the post you want to download.
Step 2: Right-click anywhere on the screen and selectInspect.
Step 3: The Inspect Element panel will open; click theNetworktab.
Step 4: To load the media in the inspector,reload the webpage.
Step 5: Now,right-clickon any media files to show more options. You need to do a hit and trial on all the media files until you find the one you want to download.
Step 6: ClickOpen in new tab.
Step 7: Once the media opens in a new tab, click thethree dots(or kebab menu) at the video’s bottom right corner.
Step 8: ClickDownload.
Step 9: A download pop-up will appear on the screen; clickSaveto save the video to your computer.
The easiest way to save photos and videos from Threads on mobile devices is to take a screenshot or screen record. But if you are on a computer, using a website to download media would be the easiest.
