5 Ways to Fix iPhone Not Receiving Texts

Fix 1. Update Carrier Settings
Your local carrier regularly releases updates to ensure flawless iPhone calls and text functions. If these carrier settings are outdated, they might interfere with text messages on the iPhone. Follow the steps below to update carrier settings on the iPhone.
Step 1:Open theSettings appon the iPhone.
Step 2: Go toGeneral> select theAboutmenu.
Step 3:Scroll to the Physical SIM section. If an update is available, tapUpdateand follow the on-screen instructions.
Fix 2. Ensure the Line is Turned On (For Multiple Sims)
You can disable and enable the cellular line and fix the text messages not showing up on the iPhone issue.
Step 1: OpenSettings> go toMobile data/Cellular data.
Step 2: Tap theSIM(which is not receiving messages).
Step 3: Turn off the toggle forTurn On This Line. After some timeenableit again.
Fix 3. Disable and Re-Enable iMessage
It is yet another trick that has worked for many users facing iPhone not receiving text message issues. One can disable iMessage and enable it again to troubleshoot the issue.
Step 1:Open theSettings appon the iPhone.
Step 2:Go toMessages> disable theiMessagetoggle.
Step 3:Restartyour device (optional). Now,enable iMessageagain.
Now, ask the person on the other side to send the text message again.
Fix 4. Ensure Hide Alerts Is Turned off
If you’re not receiving texts from one person, maybe you mistakenly turned off their notifications. To check and resolve that, follow the instructions below.
Step 1:OpenMessagesapp > go to theconversation.
Step 2: Tap thenameat the top.
Step 3: Here, ensure to toggle offHide Alertsif not already.
Fix 5. Reset Network Settings

Notably, you may not receive text messages when your local carrier faces an outage. You can visitDowndetectorand search for your carrier. You can look for major outage spikes and user comments confirming the same.

If the recipient hasenabled RCS(Rich Communication Services) on their Android phone, you may not receive text messages from them.
