5 Ways to Fix Outlook IMAP Error 0x800CCC0E on Windows 11

Fix 1: Start Outlook in Safe Mode

Faulty third-party add-ins on Outlook can also give rise to such errors. To rule out this possibility, you can open Outlook in Safe Mode. For that, hold down theCtrlkey and double-click the Outlook shortcut. Click onYeswhen the prompt appears.

Try using the Outlook app to see if you encounter the 0x800CCC0E error. If Outlook works fine in Safe Mode, you can disable all the add-ins by following the steps below.

Step 1:In the Outlook app, click on theFilemenu at the top.

Step 2:Use the left pane to navigate toOptions.

Step 3:In the Outlook Options window, switch to theAdd-instab. Use the drop-down menu next to Manage and selectCOM Add-ins. Then, click theGobutton next to it.

Step 4:Uncheck the boxes to disable add-ins and clickOK.

Restart the Outlook app and enable your add-ins individually to isolate the one causing the issue.

Fix 2: Check Server Requirement From Settings

If Outlook fails to authenticate your email’s outgoing server (SMTP), it may prevent you from sending new messages by displaying the 0x800CCC0E error. Here’s what you can do to fix it.

Step 1:Press theWindows key + Rto open the Run dialog. Typecontrolin the Open field and pressEnter.

Step 2:Switch the view type toLarge iconsand go toMail (Microsoft Outlook).

Step 3:Click onEmail Accounts.

Step 4:Select your email address and clickChange.

Step 5:Click onMore settings.

Step 6:Navigate to theOutgoing Servertab and tick the box that readsMy outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Then, clickOK.

Fix 3: Change Server Port Number

Such errors may also appear in Outlook if the outgoing server port number is incorrect or blocked. Follow the steps below to fix it.

Step 1:In the Outlook app, click on theFilemenu in the top left corner.

Step 2:In theInfotab, expandAccount Settingsand selectServer Settings.

Step 3:Under Outgoing mail, change the port value to587.

Step 4:Use the slider to increase theServer timeoutsand clickNextto save changes.

Fix 4: Create a New Outlook Profile

Your Outlook profile contains your Outlook settings. If there’s an issue with that profile or if it has become corrupted, Outlook may havetrouble connecting to the serveror exchanging emails. You can create a new Outlook profile to fix the issue.

Step 1:Click thesearch iconon the taskbar, typecontrol panel, and pressEnter.

Step 2:Change the view type toLarge iconsand click onMail (Microsoft Outlook).

Step 3:Click theShow Profilesbutton.

Step 4:Click theAddbutton, enter the name for the new profile, and clickOK.

Step 5:In the Add Account window, enter your account details and hitNext.

Step 6:Once the profile is created, select your new profile underWhen starting Microsoft Outlookand hitApply.

Fix 5: Run Office Repair Tool

Microsoft provides a handy Office repair tool that you can use to repair any of its apps, including Outlook. So, if none of the above solutions work, you can repair the Outlook app by following the steps below.

Step 1:Right-click on theStart iconand selectInstalled appsfrom the list.

Step 2:Scroll down to locate the Microsoft Office suite on the list. Click thethree-dot menu iconnext to it and selectModify.

Step 3:SelectOnline Repairand clickRepair.
