5 Ways to Fix “Unable to Load Photo” Error on iPhone

Fix 1: Disable Low Data Mode

Enabling Low Data Mode on your iPhone can hinder an app’s ability to use the internet and fetch new content. Hence, it’s best to disable it if you keep getting the “Unable to Load Photo” error on your iPhone.

To disable Low Data Mode on Wi-Fi:

Step 1:Open theSettingsapp and tap onWi-Fi.

Step 2:Tap theinfo iconnext to your Wi-Fi network and toggle offLow Data Mode.

Likewise, if you are using mobile data, use the steps below to disable Low Data Mode.

Step 1:Open up theSettingsapp > navigate toMobile Data.

Step 2:Tap onMobile Data Optionsand disableLow Data Modefrom the following menu.

Fix 2: Disable Low Power Mode

Similarly, Low Power Mode can also restrict an app’s ability to work at its full potential. To turn it off, head toSettings>Battery> turn off the toggle forLow Power Mode.

Fix 3: Remove and Re-Add Your Apple ID

If the issue remains, trysigning out of your Apple IDand signing back in. For that, open theSettingsapp and tap on your name at the top. Scroll down and tapSign Out. Then, enter yourApple ID passwordand hitSign Outagain.

Sign back into your Apple ID and load your photos again.

Fix 4: Delete and Recover Photo

If you experience this error only while loading a specific photo, delete it and recover it. Simply, long-press a photo and chooseDelete. Once removed, navigate toAlbums>Recently Deleted. Select yourphoto> tap thethree-dot menu iconat the bottom right corner > selectRecover.

Fix 5: Turn off Storage Optimization

Storage optimization allows users to take photos and videos without worrying about their iPhone storage getting full. It achieves this by uploading your photos and videos directly to iCloud instead of saving them locally. However, if your iPhone frequently fails to load photos, it’s best to disable this feature.

Step 1:Open theSettingsapp and scroll down to tap onPhotos.

Step 2:Scroll down and uncheckOptimize iPhone Storage> checkDownload and Keep Originals.
