Add Page Numbers in Word Mobile App
If you are on the go and want to add page numbers at the last minute, you can use the Microsoft Office app on iPhone or Android. We will use the Office iOS app as a reference here, but rest assured, you can follow the same steps on Android to get the job done.
Step 1:Open theOffice appon iPhone or Android > open a document > go to theeditingmode.
Step 2:Tap on thethree-dot menuon top of the keyboard and tapHome.
Step 3:TapInsert.
Step 4:Scroll down and tap onPage Numbers, then tap a position.
If you need to skip a certain number of pages before beginning the numbering, you must use the desktop app. You may use additional page number formatting by selectingFormat Page Numbersunder thePage Numbermenu.
Add Page Numbers in Word on Windows and Mac
The process of adding Microsoft Word page numbering on Mac and Windows is pretty much the same. Let us walk you through the steps.
Step 1:Open Microsoft Word.
Step 2:Click onInsertin the menu bar > expandPage Number, > click the position you want the number in. If you hover over different positions, Microsoft offers a live preview of page numbers.
Optionally, you may perform further formatting on page numbers by clicking theFormat Page Numbersoption. This option opens a new window where you can use the Number format dropdown to select the numbering format.
You may also click the Start at: option and select a page, to indicate where the numbering should begin. Once you have it all set, clickOK.
Now, you may save your document or modify it as you please.
