How to Allow or Turn off Explicit Content on Apple Music

Enable or Disable Explicit Songs on Apple Music

On iPhone

The content restrictions module controls Apple Music’s explicit content, which now resides inside theScreen Timesetting.

Step 1: Open theSettings appand tap onScreen Time.

Step 2: Tap onContent & Privacy Restrictions> enable the toggle forContent & Privacy Restrictions> tapContent Restrictions.

Step 3: Tap onMusic, Podcasts, News, Fitness. Now, select the music style of your preference.

On Android

Step 1: Open the Apple Music app on your Android device and tap on thethree dotsat the top-right corner. SelectSettingsfrom the options.

Step 2:Tap onContent Restrictions. You must set a passcode for these settings.

Step 3:Now, turn on the toggle forEnable Content Restrictions. Enable or disable the toggle forMusicto show/block explicit content.

On Mac

Step 1: OpenSystem Settings> selectScreen Timefrom the left sidebar > click onContent & Privacy.

Step 2: Enable the toggle forContent & Privacyand selectStore Restrictions.

Step 3: In the new pop-up window, disable the toggle forAllow Explicit Music, Podcasts, and News. Alternatively, if you wish to filter out explicit music, you can toggle it off.

On Windows

Step 1: Click on thethree-dot iconfor Apple Music. From the drop-down menu, click onSettings.

Step 2: Now, click onRestrictions. This will open up the restrictions settings.

Step 3: Inside the Restrictions settings, selectContent Restrictionsto expand it. Select whether to allow or block Explicit Music by checking or unchecking the toggle, respectively.

On Web Player

Step 1: Click on theProfile iconat the top-right corner. From the options that appear, selectSettings.

Step 2: On the Account Settings page, scroll down to theParental Controlssection. Click on thedrop-down boxbelow Music. Select the setting you prefer betweenCleanandExplicit.

Similar to the Android app, you need to set a 4-digit passcode. Ensure to remember this passcode since you’ll need it each time you wish to change the restriction setting.
