Very informative and helpful article. I THINK I understand it all but want to make sure I understand one aspect. I have an iPhone 8Plus. It’s been an excellent phone. I also use Bluetooth to listen to audio books and often to make calls. So far, so good, When I do either of those, the Bluetooth works fine. However, very often I have the Bluetooth device in my ear but am not listening to anything at that moment. (I always get the “Connected” message when I put the Bluetooth in, too. I might be listening to an audio book and a call comes in. It seems like I should be able to hear and speak using the Bluetooth and when I say, “hello,” the caller doesn’t hear it. I have to find and enable at that moment the setting to use the Bluetooth. This takes time and most callers hang up before I can get to them. I’d like the call to go directly to Bluetooth so I can respond as soon as I hear it begin. How do I do this? Thank you.
