How to Block Specific Sites on iPhone and iPad

The Screen Time functionality lets you easily block websites using the built-in Web Content restrictions. The feature debuted with iOS 12.

Screen Timesupports two ways to block websites: adding unwanted sites to a block list or blocking all sites while whitelisting specific sites. These restrictions apply to all the browsers on your iPhone or iPad, including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Opera.

That said, let’s check out how to block specific websites on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 1:Open theSettings appon your iPhone or iPad and tapScreen Time. Follow that by tappingContent & Privacy Restrictions.

Step 2:Turn on the toggle forContent & Privacy Restrictions> tapStore, Web, Siri & Game Center Content.

Step 3:TapWeb Contentto get to the Web Content restrictions screen. Then, to block specific websites, chooseLimit Adult Websites. Follow that by tappingAdd Websiteunder Never Allow to add the URLs of websites you want to block.

That’s it. Now, whenever you’ll try to navigate to a blocked site on any web browser, you will be restricted from visiting it. In the future, if you want to remove the website from the block list, left-swipe the website URL and choose the Delete option.

How to Allow Only Certain Websites on iPhone and iPad

If you are setting up an iPhone for a child and want them to block all websites except a few, follow these instructions:

Step 1:Open theSettingsapp > tapScreen Time>Content & Privacy Restrictions> turn on the toggle forContent & Privacy Restrictions> tapStore, Web, Siri & Game Center Content.

Step 2:SelectWeb Content> chooseOnly Approved Websites. Under the Only Allow These Approved Websites section, you will find a list of websites that can be accessed on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 3:To add additional websites, tap theAdd Websiteoption. Give the website a title and paste its URL in theURL field.

You can add as many websites as you want to the list. Once the list is prepared, only the websites on the list will be accessible. If you want to remove a particular website from the list, swipe left on it and chooseDelete.
