How to Change Name, Profile, and Team Picture in Microsoft Teams

How to Change Your Name and Profile Picture in Microsoft Teams

The process differs slightly for mobile apps. But first, let’s check the steps for changing your photo and name in Teams on the desktop.

On Desktop App and Web

Step 1:Launch theTeamsapp or the web service andsign inwith your account. Click theprofile picture icon(account manager) from the top right corner.

Step 2: To change the profile image, click the currentprofile pictureorinitials.

Step 3:A pop-up window will open. ClickUpload pictureto add your photo. Upload the photo, followed bySave.

Step 4: To change your account name, click thepencil iconnext to your name.

Step 5: In the pop-up window, change the name and clickSave.

Tip:If during the process,Microsoft Teams is not loading or opening, try out the linked fixes.

On Mobile

Step 1:Open the Teams app and tap yourcurrent pictureorinitialsat the top left. Next, tap yournameorpicturefrom the top.

Step 2:To change the profile picture, tapEditunder the current picture.

Step 3: Here, select an existing image from the gallery or click one from the camera. Pick one option and upload the image.

Step 4: To change the name,

On iOS, you can also directly tap your existing name to visit the name change window. Notably, you can reach this setting on Android and iOS from Settings > Profile in the Teams app.

Note: If you cannot change your picture in Microsoft Teams, try decreasing the resolution of the image or changing its format.

How to Change Team or Community Name and Picture in Microsoft Teams

Note:You must be the organization owner to change your team’s picture and name. Other members do not get this privilege.

On Desktop App and Web

Step 1: Click on theTeams/Community tabfrom the left sidebar.

Step 2: Click thethree-dot iconnext to your team’s name. ChooseEdit team/community.

Step 3: To change the profile image, tapEditunder the existing one. Upload the image and tapSave.

Step 4: To change the name, select the existing one and enter the new one. TapSave.

On Mobile

Step 1:Launch theMicrosoft Teams appand go to theTeam page. Tap thearrow icon(iOS) ori(Android) next to the team name.

Step 2:Here, tap thepencil iconfrom the top.

Step 3: Change the photo or name from here and tapSave.
