How to Change Theme in Messenger

We suggest installing the latest versions of the app on your device before proceeding with the steps.

On Mobile

Step 1:Open the Messenger app on your iPhone or Android and tap thecontact nameat the top.

Step 2:Tap onThemeand scroll down to seeall the options.

The Messenger app provides options for color gradients and custom themes. Tap on the one you like to keep it as your theme.

On Desktop

Step 1:Open the app and tap theInfo iconat the top-right corner. Then, click onChange theme.

Step 2:Click onany color to changethe chat color. Click on theitems in the first rowto change the background as well.

Note: You might not see the background on the PC. But if you open the Messenger app on mobile, you will see a new background for your chat.

How to Change Messenger Theme to Default or Classic on PC and Mobile

If you don’t like the new colors or someone else changed the Messenger theme, revert to the classic theme.

On Desktop

Step 1:Click on theChange themefrom the sidebar of Messenger on your PC.

Step 2:When the color picker appears, click on theblue color to change the Messenger themeback to normal.

On Mobile

Step 1:Tap on theparticipant’s namein the chat thread and tap onThemes.

Step 2:Tap on the blue color. This will revert any applied theme to Messenger’sdefault or classictheme.
