How to Create WhatsApp Invitation Cards

One may think of WhatsApp as a regular chat app. However, WhatsApp isn’t just limited to conversations for you can do so much on it. For instance, send a broadcast to notify a group of people, track real-time location, orsend money. Another thing that you can do on WhatsApp or any other messaging app is to send invites to people. No, you don’t have to send a boring text message. You can send personalized digital invitation cards. The e-invite cards are cost effective and save a lot of time.

But how does one create a digital card and send it across? Don’t worry. In this post, we will tell you a few ways to create digital cards. After you create some, you can share them on WhatsApp.

Use WhatsApp Status

You cannot create native invitation cards on WhatsApp. But, if you are creative, you can use thestatus feature of WhatsAppto make beautiful invitations.

To do so, open the WhatsApp status screen and use the provided tools such as text, doodle, sticker, etc. to make an invitation card. Without uploading it as your status, take a screenshot, crop it, and send it to others.

Use Invitation Card Maker Apps

Gone are the days when the phone was meant for calling people only. Now you can now do everything on your phone. Be it creating a word document, editing pictures, or painting a photo.

Our phones let us create invitation cards as well. Both the iOS and Android app stores have a vast collection of invitation card maker apps. All you need to do is enter the text as per the occasion. Then change the theme and modify other elements. These apps will generate an invitation image. Once you have the invitation, use WhatsApp to share it with others.

The card-maker app that I like is theCanva app. It is available on Android and iOS both. It also has a web version.

The Canva app provides an easy-to-use interface and many design templates. The app offers templates for occasions like birthday, wedding, save the date, etc. It is known for creatingsocial media graphicsas well.

Create Video on PC

If you are familiar with video-editing software for PC, you can use your creativity to make a video invitation card. Once you make the video,send it to your phone. Then share it on WhatsApp as a video.

Create Video on Phone

If you don’t have a PC handy or you are not familiar with a video making software, you can create one on your phone too.

You can make a video from a slideshow of pictures or your physical card. In the former case, you need to have some good images handy relevant to the occasion. In the latter, you need to take the photos of the card.

Once you have the pictures, use video editing apps on your phone to create a slideshow in both cases. You can add text, stickers, and change music among various other things. If you have an Android phone, try apps likeQuik,VideoShow, andViva Video.

Send a PDF

The South Asian wedding cards usually have at least two pages. While you can just take pictures of the wedding card and send it on WhatsApp, viewing a PDF file gives a more realistic feel.

To create a PDF from images, download an Image to PDF converter on your device and select the photos. Make sure to rearrange the pictures according to the pages. On my Android phone, I like to use theImage to PDF converter by DLM Infosoft.

Create Card from Web App

Last but not the least way to create an invitation is using a web app. One website that caught my attention isYouvivid.net. It lets you create sophisticated invitations for every occasion.

All you have to do is select a theme and fill in the event details. Interestingly, it creates a multiple page invitation where you get things like map, gallery, reminder, etc.

Now you know how to create digital invitation cards, you can share them on WhatsApp or any other messaging app. If you have to send such invites to many people at the same time, you can use thebroadcast list featureof WhatsApp.

Itdiffers from WhatsApp Groupsin many ways. One of the primary differences is that unlike Groups, people will not know about other recipients. So each recipient will receive the card separately. Now that your invitation is ready, you can chill out and focus on other things.
