Disable Google Chat and Meet in Gmail
If you don’t useGoogle ChatorGoogle Meetservices in Gmail, turning it off becomes reasonable to remove extra tabs cluttering your workspace. Fortunately, Gmail provides the option to turn these features off both in its web interface and mobile app.
On Web
Step 1:Open Gmail > click on theGear iconat the top right > selectSee all settings.
Step 2:Expand theChat and Meettab > setChatto Off >MeettoHide the Meet section in the main menu> click onSave Changesand reload Gmail to update its interface.
On Android Phone
Step 1:Tap thehamburger menuat the top-left in the Gmail app and selectSettings.
Step 2:Pick your desiredGmail accountand scroll down to locate theGeneralsection.
Step 3:UncheckChatandShow the Meet tab for video callingto disable them in the Gmail app, respectively on Android.
On iPhone
Step 1:Open GmailSettings(check the steps above) > selectChat> and toggle offShow the Chat tab.
Step 2:Similarly, selectMeet> toggle offShow the Meettab for video calling to disable it in the Gmail app.
