How to Export Lucidchart Diagrams to Microsoft Word and Excel

Method 1: Importing Lucidchart Diagrams as Image Files

Step 1:After completing your diagram, clickFile > Exportand select one of the options – PNG, JPEG, or SVG.

Step 2:Next, select theDocument pageandQuality. By default, Lucidchart exports a large canvas, which must be resized later. Hence, use theCrop to contentoption to your liking.

Step 3:Once your data is downloaded to the location of your choice, open Word or Excel. Next, click onInsert > Pictures, and select theimagesthat you want to upload.

If you have downloaded multiple pages, extract the images first and insert them in Word or Excel.

Method 2. Importing Files via Lucidchart Add-in

Step 1:To add the Add-in, open Word or Excel and click onFile>My Add-ins.

Step 2:In the Search area, search forLucidchartand install it. You will have to log in after installation.

Step 3:Under the Insert tab, click on theInsert Diagramwith the Lucichart logo button. It will then prompt you to insert a diagram by browsing the online collection. You can also create a new one and update it if needed.

Once Lucidchart imports the diagram, apply standard image formatting options, such as border and shadow.

How to Export Print Quality Images From Lucidchart?

When exporting, choose between Screen and Print quality. While the former is best when you need to share, the latter comes in handy when printing and sending the document somewhere else.

How to Add Lucidchart Image to Google Slides?

While you can insert images, the online tool also allows you to Export as Slides to Google Slides. However, since the add-in is missing, you cannot refresh the image if you change the original design.
