How to Fix Apple Maps Not Showing the Speed Limit

Basic Fixes

Fix 1: Enable Speed Limit Feature

Firstly, you’ll need to check whether the feature to show Speed Limit is enabled for Apple Maps. The feature shows up depending on your mode of travel. More importantly, you must check if this feature isavailable for your country.

Step 1:OpenSettings > Maps > Select your mode of travel under Directions.

Step 2:Tap the toggle next toSpeed Limitto enable the feature.

Fix 2: Enable Motion Calibration and Distance

The speedometer in Apple Maps will show you the correct speed only after receiving your accurate location. So you need to check the Location settings on your iPhone and for Apple Maps.

Step 1:OpenSettings > Privacy and Security > Location Services.

Step 2:EnableLocation Services.

Step 3:Scroll down and then selectMaps.

Step 4:Ensure thatLocation accessis allowed at least while using the app. We also suggest turning onPrecise Location.

Step 5:Go back, scroll down to the bottom, and selectSystem Services.

Step 6:Tap the toggle next toMotion Calibration and Distance.

Fix 3: Reset Privacy and Location Settings

You can reset the settings for location preferences on your iPhone. Following the steps will bring your setting to default.

OpenSettings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Location and Privacy.
