How to Fix Shortcuts Automation Not Working on iPhone

Basic Fixes

Fix 1: Check if Automation Is Enabled

Sometimes, automation gets disabled on your iPhone. So, you might have to turn it on again manually.

Step 1:Open theShortcuts appon your iPhone and tap onAutomationsat the bottom.

Step 2:Select yourautomationthat is not working properly.

Step 3:If previously disabled, enable the toggle forEnable This Automationand tap onDoneat the top-right corner to confirm.

Step 4:Close the Shortcuts app and check if it solves the problem.

Please note that someautomation on your iPhonemay be triggered by location, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, email, etc. These require confirmation, especially when your iPhone is locked.

Fix 2: Check Automation Sound Settings

If you have created a specific automation for receiving notifications, ensure you have enabled its sound.

Step 1:Open theShortcuts appand selectAutomations.

Step 2:Select theautomationthat is not working properly.

Step 3:Tap onSpeak Textand expand theSiri voice commandset for the automation.

Step 4:Ensure to enableWait Until Finishedand then go back to tap onDoneat the top-right corner.

Step 5:Close the Shortcuts app and check if this solved the problem.

Fix 3: Reset All Settings

If none of the solutions work,reset all settings of your iPhone. This will remove your data and restore the default settings for your iPhone.

Step 1:Open theSettings appon your iPhone. Then, scroll down and tap onGeneral.

Step 2:Scroll down and selectTransfer or Reset iPhone.

Step 3:SelectResetand tap onReset All Settings.

Step 4:Enter your iPhone passcode and tap again onReset All Settingsat the bottom.
