Enable iCloud Keychain Again

If iCloud Keychain doesn’t sync your data between your devices, there’s a simple fix to solve the problem. It involves turning off iCloud Keychain across your Apple devices and then turning it back on starting from the device that has your most up-to-date data. That will cause iCloud Keychain to sync your data without issues once again.

To make things easier, let’s break down the process. We shall start by disabling iCloud Keychain on your iPhone and iPad and turning it off on any macOS devices you own. After that, we shall re-enable it in the correct order. Ensure you are connected to a strong internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular) during the process.

On iPhone and iPad

OpenSettings>profile name>iCloud>Show All>Passwords and Keychain>disable Sync this iPhone> tapKeep On My iPhone.

Wait for a moment and re-enable iCloud Keychain on your iPhone or iPad.

On Mac

OpenSettings>profile nameon left side >iCloud>Paswords and Keychain> disableSync this Mac> click onKeep On My Mac.

Wait for a moment, and then re-enable iCloud Keychain on your Mac.

But preferably, you must enable iCloud Keychain first on the device that has the latest version of your Keychain data. For example, if you changed your passwords or credit card details on a device after the syncing issue first started, start by enabling iCloud Keychain on that device first.

You can always check your passwords and credit card info manually. But for the most part, using your best judgment will suffice. The iCloud Keychain will merge your passwords and credit card details with the latest changes regardless of the order in which you enable it. So, you won’t lose any data even if you get it wrong.

How to Find Passwords and Credit Card Info

If you can’t remember the exact device that contains your latest data, check your list of saved passwordsand credit card info manually. But if there are several passwords, it’s not that easy to figure that out. So, go with your gut. At the most, you must redo the entire procedure from scratch if iCloud Keychain fails to work.

On iPhone and iPad

Step 1:OpenSettings>Passwordsto check your saved passwords. Go back to yourApple account name>Payment and Shippingto check your credit card info.

On Mac

OpenSafari > Settings > Passwords > check PasswordsorAuto-Fillfor your info.
