How to Fix “Your Call Cannot Be Completed as Dialed” Error

Ankita enjoys exploring and writing about technology. Starting as a script and copywriter, her keen interest in the digital world pulled her towards technology. With GT, she has found her calling in writing about and simplifying the world of tech for others. On any given day, you can catch her chained to her laptop, meeting deadlines, writing scripts, and watching shows (any language!).

Basic Fixes:

Fix 1: Call Without the ISD Code

While most ISD codes start with + followed by the code or 00, some devices interpret it as a normal digit. This turns +1123 or 0023 to 123, which can cause the call not to connect. So, try to call without attaching the ISD code or double-check the code before dialing. Ensure the right area code is in use.

Fix 2: Enable Wi-Fi Calling

Wi-Fi calling allows you to use your Wi-Fi to strengthen your mobile network and place calls even with extremely low signal strength. So, if you’ve been facing the “We are unable to complete your call” error due to poor network or connectivity issues, try enabling Wi-Fi calling on your device. Here’s how to do it.

On Android

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onConnections. Turn on the toggle forWi-Fi Calling.

On iPhone

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onCellular. Tap onWi-Fi callingand turn on theWi-Fi Calling on This iPhonetoggle.

Fix 3: Check if the Contact Is Blocked

If you’ve been repeatedly seeing error messages when calling a particular number, it might be time to look at your device’s block list as calling a blocked contact might not yield the best results. Follow the below steps to open the block list on Android.

Step 1:Open thePhone appand go toRecent. Tap thethree-dot iconand tap onSettings.

Step 2:Tap onBlock numbersand tap on the– iconin front of the relevant number to unblock it.

Similarly, you can alsofind blocked numbers on an iPhone. Once located, unblock the number and see if the call goes through.

Fix 4: Change Network Mode

If your area doesn’t have 5G available or if network strength is low, you can change your current network mode to enable or disable 5G on your phone. You can make the changes and try placing a call to check which network mode works best for you. Here’s how to do it.

On Android

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onConnections. Tap onMobile networks.

Step 2:Tap onNetwork modeand select a differentnetwork mode.

On iPhone

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onCellular. Tap onCellular Data Options. Change thecellular data modeas required.

Fix 5: Contact Your Service Provider
