How to Hide a Story from Someone on Snapchat

Snapchaton iOS and Android uses a similar UI. For this post, we will use the Snapchat app for iPhone to showcase the steps here. You can perform the same steps on Android to get the job done.

Step 1:OpenSnapchaton your iPhone or Android. It will open the camera viewfinder menu. Tap on theprofilemenu at the top.

Step 2:Tap on thethree-dot menubeside the My Story option.

Step 3:SelectStory Settingsfrom the context menu. Tap onCustomand it will open your friend list.

Step 4:Select thecontactsfrom whom you want to hide the story. Once done, tap on theBlockbutton at the bottom.

When you want to share your stories with all your friends again, change the Story Setting toMy FriendsorEveryone.

This trick works fine when you want to hide a few selected friends from viewing your Snapchat story. But what if you have hundreds of friends on the social platform and want to share the story with selected users only?

Instagram has a feature calledClosed Friendsthat allows you to create a close circle of friends to share stories with them only. Snapchat doesn’t have such an add-on and you need to send the story as a DM (direct message) to close friends.
