Step 2: Navigate to thegroupyou want to mute notifications for.
Step 2: Under the group chat, click on thethree vertical iconsat the top right.
Step 3: From the drop-down menu, selectGroup info.
Step 4: In the right-side pane, toggle onMute notifications.
Step 5: Select the number of hours or weeks you want to mute the group notifications and selectMute.

How to Silent WhatsApp Group On Mobile
The steps are the same for Android and iOS. However, for this demonstration, we are going with an Android device. Follow along.
Step 1: LaunchWhatsAppon your Android or iOS device and navigate to the group you want to mute notifications for.
Step 2: Tap thethree-dot iconin the top navigation bar and selectGroup info.
Step 3: Scroll down and toggle onMute notifications. In the Mute notifications pop-up, select between 8 hours, 1 week, or Always. Then, selectOK.
There you go. You have successfully muted your WhatsApp group. You will not receive any notifications from this group, but you can still see the messages popping up.

How to Permanently Disable WhatsApp Group Notifications
Note: You can only perform these steps on the WhatsApp mobile app, as they are unavailable on the WhatsApp web or desktop clients.
Step 1: LaunchWhatsAppand navigate to thegroupyou want to mute notifications for.
Step 2: Tap thethree-dot iconin the top navigation bar and selectGroup info.
Step 3:Now,scroll down and selectCustom notifications. Under Notifications, tap onUse custom notifications.
Step 4: SelectNotification tone. From the list of Sound Ringtones section toNone.
Step 5: Additionally, selectVibrate. From the pop-up, selectOff(or choose as per your preference).

No, other participants in the WhatsApp group cannot see if you have muted the group. Muting a group’s notifications is a private setting that only affects your device.
