How to Restrict Battery Charging at 80% on iPhone

On iPhone 15 Series
TheiPhone 15series has a new feature called 80% Limit that allows you to restrict battery charging to 80%. This includes the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Step 1: Open theSettingsapp, scroll down, and tap onBattery.
Step 2: Tap onBattery Health & Charging, and go toCharging Optimization.
Step 3: Choose the80% Limitoption.
On Older iPhones
For older iPhones, there’s no way to turn off charging automatically. You can, however, still be notified when your iPhone reaches the 80% charge limit, at which point you can turn off the charging manually.
Method 1: Using a Battery Charging Alarm
The easier route is to use a third-party application. There are plenty of battery-charging alarm apps on the App Store. For this guide, we’ll be using theBattery Health – Charge Alarmapp. Here’s how to use it.
Step 1: Download and launch the app and set thebattery percentageto 80%. You can also customize the kind of alarm sound, along with the notifications you would like to receive from the app.
Method 2: Using a Shortcut
If you don’t want to install an additional app, use a custom shortcut on your iPhone to get the same functionality.
Step 1: Open thedownload page for the Shortcutand tap on theGet Shortcuticon.
Step 2: Now, tap onAdd Shortcut.
Step 3: Once the shortcut has been added to your iPhone, it’s time to trigger it automatically while charging. To do that, open theShortcuts appand switch to theAutomationtab from the bottom.
Step 4: Tap onNew Automation.
Step 5: Now, search forChargerand tap on the result that pops up. Then, tap onIs Connectedand check the option forRun Immediately. Once done, tap on Next.
Step 6: Now, tap onMy Shortcuts. Finally, tap on the80% Charge Alarmicon.
