How to Stop WhatsApp Calls From a Specific Person Without Blocking
WhileWhatsApp allows you to block contactsto prevent calls and messages entirely, you might not want to go that far for certain individuals. Fortunately, you can stop calls from specific contacts without blocking them completely by removing the person from your contact list and enabling “Silence Unknown Callers” in WhatsApp.
This will allow WhatsApp to block calls from that person and other unknown callers while allowing you to receive messages. Here’s how to do it on your Android or iPhone
On Android
Step 1:Open theContactsapp > find thecontactyou want to delete > tap on it.
Step 2:Tap thethree-dot menuicon at the top right > selectDelete> chooseMove to Trashto confirm.
Step 3:OpenWhatsApp> tap thethree-dot iconat the top right > selectSettings>Privacy.
Step 4:SelectCallsand enable theSilence unknown callersoption.
On iPhone
Step 1:Open theContactsapp > tap thecontactyou want to delete.
Step 2:TapEditat the top right > scroll down and tapDelete Contact> selectDelete Contactagain to confirm.
Step 3:OpenWhatsAppon your iPhone > tapSettingsat the bottom right > go toPrivacy>Calls> enableSilence unknown callers.
You can repeat these steps for additional individuals if needed. This way, you can block calls from certain people while still receiving their messages. It’s important to note that WhatsApp will display notifications for these silenced calls.
Since yourphone won’t ring for these calls, they won’t bother you. However, if you call the silenced number, WhatsApp will not automatically mute future calls from that person, even if they are not added to your contact list.
