How to Turn off Subtitles for Prime Video on Web Browser

Use the subtitle settings to disable Prime Video subtitles on your web browser. If this doesn’t work, change the subtitle language and try again. Here’s a step-by-step guide for more details.

Step 1:OpenPrime Videoon your web browser andsign in. Click on thetitleyou want to watch.

Step 2:Then, move your cursor, and once it appears, click on theSubtitles and Audioicon.

Step 3:Here, click onOff.

Note:If audio is on Audio Description, switch toEnglishor any other preferredlanguage stream.

Step 4:If your subtitles are still showing, click onCC subsif available.

Step 5:Then, click onOffagain.

Disable Amazon Prime Video Subtitles on Windows App

Similarly, you can also disable subtitles when using the Prime Video app on your Windows device. Here’s how.

Step 1:Go to thePrime Video Windows appand open thetitleyou want to watch.

Step 2:Now, click on theSubtitles and Audioicon.

How to Turn off Amazon Prime Video Subtitles on the Mobile App

Subtitles are usually turned on by default in the Amazon Prime Video Android and iOS app. Follow the below-mentioned steps if you wish to turn them off.

Step 1:Open thePrime Video mobile appand tap on thetitleyou want to watch.

Step 2:Now, tap anywhere on the screen to bring up controls and tap theSubtitleicon.

Step 3:Here, tap onOff.

Note:If your Audio is selected to Audio Description, switch it toEnglishor any other preferredlanguageto turn off the narrator.

Turn off Captions for iOS and iPadOS Devices

Accessibility settings in iOS or iPadOS devices can display subtitles even after they have been turned off from the Prime Video app. Here’s how to turn them off.

Note:This will turn off accessibility subtitles and captions for all your device apps.

Step 1:OpenSettingsand tap onGeneral. Then, tap onAccessibility.

Step 2:Scroll down and tap onSubtitles & Captioning.

How to Disable Subtitles for Amazon Fire Stick Prime Video App

While you can disable subtitles from the Fire TV Stick Prime Video app, they can still appear if your device’s accessibility settings are on. So, here’s how to turn off captions from the Fire TV Stick Prime Video app and Fire TV Stick settings.

Method 1: From the Fire TV Stick Prime Video App

Step 1:Open thePrime Video appon your Fire TV Stick. Then, select thetitleyou want to watch.

Step 2:On your Fire TV Stick remote control, press theoptions button.

Step 3:Here, selectSubtitles.

Step 4:Scroll up and selectOffto turn off Prime Video subtitles.

Method 2: From the Fire TV Stick Settings

You can turn off caption settings for the Fire TV Stick Prime Video app from your device’s accessibility settings as well. Here’s how.

Step 1:Open yourFire TV Stickand go toSettings. Here, selectAccessibility.

Step 2:Then, selectClosed Caption.

Step 3:Again, selectClosed Captionto turn it off.

Additionally, you can also turn off the narrator for the Prime Video app. Here’s how.

Step 4:From the Accessibility menu settings, scroll down and selectAudio Description.

Step 5:SelectPrime Videoto turn it off.
