How to Add Someone to WhatsApp by Scanning Their QR Code

On Android

Step 1:Tap on thethree dotsand selectSettings.

Step 2:Tap on theQR code iconnext to your name.

Step 3:Switch to theScan Codetab.

Step 4:Point your camera at theQR codeto scan it.

Once the code is scanned, a new chat window will open with that person. You can now message them on WhatsApp.

On iPhone

Step 1:Tap onSettingsat the bottom right.

Step 2:Select theQR Codeoption next to your name.

Step 3:Tap onScan.

How to Create and Share WhatsApp QR Codes

On Android

Step 1:Tap thethree dotsand selectSettings.

Step 2:Tap theQR code iconnext to your name.

Step 3:On theMy Codetab, you’ll see your QR code.

Step 4:Tap theSharebutton at the top right.

This is very useful if you have aWhatsApp business accountand want clients or customers to contact you on WhatsApp.

On iPhone

Step 1:TapSettingsat the bottom right.

Step 2:Select theQR Codeicon next to your name.

Step 3:Tap theSharebutton (box with an upward arrow) at the top right.

How to Reset Your WhatsApp QR Code

If you’ve shared your QR code with someone and now want to change it, or if you want to reset your code for security reasons, here’s how:

On Android

Step 1:Tap thethree dotsand selectSettings.

Step 2:Next to your display picture, tap theQR code icon.

Step 3:On theMy Codetab, tap thethree dotsat the top right.

Step 4:TapReset QR code>Reset.

On iPhone:

Step 1:Tap theSettingstab at the bottom right.

Step 2:Select theQR Code iconnext to your display picture.

Step 3:TapReset QR code>Reset.

After resetting your QR code, the old code won’t work anymore.
