How to View and Delete ChatGPT History on iPhone, Android, and Web

Viewing and Deleting Chat History

On Web

Hover your mouse to a chat you want to delete. Click on thethree-dotsicon, and tap onDelete chat.

To delete all chats, click on yourusername, and go toSettings.

Then, go to theGeneraltab, and click onDelete All.

On Mobile

Tap on themenuicon at the top right corner, and thentap and holdthe chat you want to delete. Tap ondelete.

To delete all chats, tap on themenuicon at the top right corner, then tap on yourusername. Tap onData Controls, and then selectDelete All Chats.

Archiving Chats

If you don’t want to delete chats, you can choose to hide them from the app. You can restore them, or get rid of them later.

On Web

Step 1: Hover your mouse around a chat and tap on thearchiveicon. Confirm your action in the next prompt.

Step 2:To access, or delete archived chats, tap on your username, and selectSettings.

Step 3:Click onManagenext to Archived chats.

Step 4:You can either unarchive the chat or delete the chat.

Tip:You can also go toSettings > Data Controls > Archive allto archive all chats.

On Mobile

Select themenuicon at the top-left. Tap and hold the chat you want to archive, and selectArchive.

To manage archived chats, tap on the menu icon at the top-left, and select yourusername. Go toArchived chatsand you can eitherUnarchiveorDeletethe chat.

Tip:You can also go toSettings> Data Controls > Archive Allto archive all chats at once.

How to Use ChatGPT in Incognito Mode

If you don’t wantChatGPT to record your chat history and use it for training the AI, here’s what you need to do.

On Web

Select your username, and click onSettings.

Go toData Controlsand turn off the toggle forChat history & training.

On Mobile

Tap on themenuicon at the top-left corner, then tap on yourusername. Tap onData Controls, and then turn offImprove the model for everyone.
