How to View, Download, and Delete Your Instagram Data

How to View Your Instagram Data
If you only want to see what data Instagram has collected during your usage, you can easily access it in the Instagram app on your phone. Here’s how:
Step 1:Open the Instagram app and switch to theprofiletab. Tap themenu iconat the top right corner and selectSettings.
Step 2:Go toYour activity>Account history. Here, you’ll find all changes made to your Instagram account over the years. You can use the options at the top to filter and sort this data.
How to Download Your Instagram Data
Downloading a copy of your Instagram account data enables you to view everything you’ve shared on the platform. This data includesyour liked posts, connections, comments, subscriptions, messages, and more.
Step 1:Launch theInstagram appon your phone and navigate to thesettings page.
Step 2:Go toAccounts Center > Your information and permissions > Download your information.
Step 3:TapDownload or transfer information. Select your Instagram account from the list and hitNext.
Step 4:SelectAll available information. You can also selectSome of your informationif you only want to download specific account data.
Step 5:SelectDownload to deviceand hitNext. Then, selectCreate files.
Once you submit the request, Instagram will begin creating a file of your shared content. You’ll receive an email from Instagram once the data is ready for download. To download it:
Open the Instagram settings page and head toAccounts Center > Your information and permissions > Download your information.
You must open theZIP file on your phoneor computer to view your data.
How to Delete Your Instagram Data
Unfortunately, the only way to remove your Instagram data is to delete the account itself. Here are the steps for this.
Step 1:Launch the Instagram app on your phone and navigate to thesettingspage.
Step 2:Go toAccounts Center > Personal details>Account ownership and control.
Step 3:Go toDeactivation or deletionand choose your Instagram account.
Step 4:SelectDelete accountand hitContinue. Then, enter your password to confirm the action.
If you change your mind, Instagram will wait 30 days before completely deleting your account. Until then, your profile will remain hidden.
