How to View LinkedIn Profiles Anonymously or Without Account

Method 1: Use Private Mode on LinkedIn

LinkedIn lets you select whether you want to disclose your identity while viewing someone else’s profile natively. The Private Mode option on LinkedIn allows you to go anonymous and look at any LinkedIn profile without notifying them. It is available on both web and mobile. Here’s how to enable it.

On Web

Step 1: OpenLinkedInon any web browser and click yourprofile picture.

Step 2: SelectSettings & Privacyfrom the drop-down menu.

Step 3: On the Settings page, clickVisibility.

Step 4: ClickProfile viewing optionsunder the Visibility of your profile & network section.

Step 5: SelectPrivate modefrom the available options.

On Mobile

Step 1: Launch theLinkedIn mobile appand tap yourprofile picture. Tap onSettings.

Step 2: TapVisibility. SelectProfile viewing options. TapPrivate modein the following menu.

Method 2: Using Yandex Website Translation

You can also use the Yandex Website Translation to translate the LinkedIn page and open it without logging in. This can be helpful if you’re viewing pages that require login. Ensure the output language is set to your preferred language. Here’s how.

Step 1:On yourweb browser, go to the relevantLinkedIn pageand copy thepage link.

Step 2:OpenYandex Website Translationon the web browser. Paste thelinkand pressenter.

The page should open in a new window. You can now view the LinkedIn profile without the login prompt. You can also use this method on a mobile web browser.

Method 3: Look at LinkedIn Profiles Privately Without an Account

For LinkedIn certain pages, the incognito window works like a charm. This can help you look at someone’s LinkedIn profile without them knowing. Let’s take a look at the steps.

Step 1: Open anyweb browserand open a newincognito window.

Step 2: Search for the relevantpersonand click on theirLinkedIn profilefrom the search results.

Step 3: Once the profile page opens, scroll through thepageand view theprofile details

Tips to Stay Private When Using LinkedIn

While looking for someone without logging in might help you stay private, it doesn’t always work. So, here are some more tips to stay private while using LinkedIn.

1. Make Another Account or Use Someone Else’s Account

Sometimes, some profiles need an account to be visible while using LinkedIn. In such cases, you can create a burner account on LinkedIn or lend a friend’s account to view such profiles. Just go to LinkedIn and sign up using the menu options.

2. Change Your Active Status

LinkedIn, by default, shows your active status (green bubble) near your profile picture. So, if you have visited someone’s profile on LinkedIn, they can see your active status along with your name. Here’s how to turn off the active status.

Step 1: OpenLinkedInon any web browser and click on yourprofile picture.

Step 2: ClickSettings & Privacy.

Step 3: Now, clickVisibility.

Step 4: Click onManage active statusunder the Visibility of your LinkedIn activity section.

Step 5: SelectNo one.

Now, no one will be able to see your active status on LinkedIn. You can now browse LinkedIn without letting other people know you’re currently available.
