Spotify Not Working on Mac? Here’s the Fix

Basic Fixes
Fix 1: Delete Spotify Folder in Application Support
The Application Support folder on your Mac has all the files needed for apps to work. These files include software’s registration information, configuration data, settings, etc. You can delete the same application folder for Spotify and then check if the problem gets solved.
Step 1:PressCommand + Spacebar to open Spotlight Searchand then type the following address.
~/Library/Application Support
Step 2:Select theSpotify app folderand then drag it to the Trash. Then,clear the Trash.
Step 3:Close the window and thenrelaunch Spotify.
Fix 2: Remove Spotify Cache Folders
Just like how you would clear app cache on your phone, we suggest doing the same for Spotify on your Mac. Doing this will remove all the outdated cache files for Spotify from your Mac.
Step 1:On your Mac desktop, clickGo > Press Option your keyboard > Click on Library.
Step 2:Open the Caches folder in the window that opens. Then, deletecom.spotify.Clientandcom.spotify.client.helper.
Step 3:Go back and then open thenApplication Support folder. Then, deleteSpotify.
Step 4:Close the window, click onGo > Go to Folderon your desktop.
Step 5:EnterSpotifyin the search field, hitSearch: Libraryand delete all files that appear:IsleyP_0-1668117078036.png.
Step 6:Close the folder and thenshut down your Mac.
Step 7:After the Mac boots up,install Spotify again.
Fix 3: Reset Spotify App Data
It is pretty suggestive from what we say. Following this step will restore all app settings to default on your Mac.
OpenSpotify > Click on Help > Troubleshoot > Reset App Data and Restart.
Fix 4: Disable Hardware Acceleration and Reload
Many Spotify users have claimed that unchecking the Hardware Acceleration option helped them bring sanity to their lives.
You can open theSpotify app > select the Spotify menu in the menu bar > Disable Hardware Acceleration.
