What Does a Cloud Icon With a Slash Mean on Google Photos
A cloud with a slash indicates that the image is not backed up to Google Photos.
Step 1:Tap on youraccount iconat the top right corner. SelectTurn on Backup.
Note:If you see the ‘Backing up to a different account’ message, tap on it and turn off theBackuptoggle. This disables future backups for the mentioned account but won’t delete anyuploaded photos.
Step 2:Select thequality, and if necessary, turn on the toggle to back up photos using mobile data.
You can always change thequality of the Google Photosbackup in settings.
You may still see the cloud icon with a slash under certainfolders. Go to theLibrarytab > open thefolder> turn onBackupfor it.

What Does a Cloud With a Check Mark or Cloud With an Arrow Pointing Upwards Mean
Photos and videos that have been backed up show a cloud icon with a checkmark. A cloud icon with an arrow pointing upwards indicates that your media is waiting to be backed up.
When your phone connects toWi-Fiormobile data, the app uploads photos and videos and hides the cloud icon with an arrow pointing up.
You can tap on your account picture at the top right and check the number of items left to be backed up.
To enable uploads with mobile data, go toGoogle PhotosSettings>Backupand turn on the toggles for uploading media with mobile data.
