Use the Lasso Tool

Unfortunately, Samsung removed the manual selection option to create custom stickers inOne UI 6. But there’s a workaround to select any part of the image, such as text or a second subject, instead of the primary one. You must use theLasso tool in the editing tools firstto cut out the sticker and then create a sticker out of this cutout image.

Here are the step-by-step instructions:

Step 1:Open thephotoin the Samsung Gallery app and tap thePencil (Edit) iconat the bottom.

Step 2:Tap thefour-circle iconand chooseLasso tool.

Step 3:TapSelect manually. Then, draw around the area that you want to convert to a sticker using your finger and tap onNext.

Step 4: Customize the border on the screen that shows up and pressDone.

Step 5: Then, tap thethree-dot icon, followed bySave as copy. You can also press the Save button but it will overwrite the selection on the actual picture. To avoid that, save it as a copy.

Step 5: Now, open the image you saved in step 4. It will be in the Gallery app next to the original picture.

Step 6: Long-press on theimageand selectSave as sticker. You can also use another method to create a sticker. That’s it. You have successfully created a custom sticker, which you will find in the sticker collection.

I know, I know! The steps are too long compared to what was earlier available in One UI 5. But let’s be grateful that we can at least still do it without using any third-party app.
